Pets on School Properties:
Pets are not allowed on School property. With the start of baseball season, this is a large concern especially at the girls’ fast pitch field near the District’s Professional Development Center. The team coach is spending an inordinate amount of his time cleaning up the field prior to the team being able to practice. Additionally, even though efforts are made to clean the area, athletes may still be exposed to residual or missed deposits. Please keep animals off the field.
Pet Owners’ Responsivities:
Licensing: All cats and dogs three months of age and older must be licensed.
Leash Law: Dog owners are required to keep their dog under their immediate control any time the dog is taken off of their property and must be on a leash. “Voice” control even for trained animals does not meet the leash law requirements.
Household Pets at Large: It is not permitted for any household pet to be at large during any hour of the day or night in the Town. Missing cats are becoming a common occurrence and keeping them under your immediate control may prevent them from becoming food for our coyote population.
Pet Waste Removal: Pet owners are required to clean up any pet waste immediately following its deposit. Bags and deposit containers are available in many of our Town parks and trails. Also, please deposit the bags in appropriate containers and do not leave them along the shoulder of the street, on retaining walls, or in the bushes.
Public Safety:
Safety and Security:
Several arrests were made this week of individuals wandering through neighborhoods looking into houses/cars. Please remember to keep your homes and cars locked at all times and valuables out of plain site. Also, these arrests were assisted by neighbors seeing unusual activity and notifying Public Safety.
