Sue Drier, Pierce Transit’s C.E.O., was behind the wheel of the historic 1948 green and yellow bus that was parked on Lafayette St. in Steilacoom during the Aug. 24 Farmers Market.
Drier spoke about the historic bus while also promoting taking the current bus to the up-coming Washington State Fair, and she spoke briefly about the Transit Company’s efforts to increase ridership hours throughout the county by next March. Meanwhile, bus fare back in the late 40’s was a nickel or maybe 25 cents.
