Hundreds of vehicles–and their occupants–descended on Steilacoom on Aug. 13 for the Annual Townwide (Chamber of Commerce-sponsored) Garage Sale. More than 55 Weekend vendors sold everything and anything from kayaks to TVs, from clothing and footwear to jewelry and games, while customers blithely jaywalked across the streets.
Several headed to the Bair Bistro for nourishment, where the shelves were stocked with old-fashioned remedies such as boxes of Figsen, Karnak, Saraka, Eno Salt, Agarol, Magnesia Tablets, Mentholatum and more.
At the opposite end of the store folks lined up for shakes and sodas at the 1895 Soda Fountain, one of Steilacoom Historical Museum’s historic properties..
